Результаты клинических исследований и мета-анализов убедительно демонстрируют необходимость проведения липид-снижающей терапии в целях уменьшения риска развития осложнений ишемической болезни сердца (ИБС) и летальности от этого заболевания. Практическим врачам необходима дополнительная информация, которая позволила бы выбрать среди существующих препаратов из группы статинов не только эффективный, безопасный, но и фармакоэкономически наиболее приемлемый. Результаты современных научных исследований позволяют вполне определенно говорить о высокой эффективности, достаточно благоприятном профиле безопасности нового синтетического статина розувастатина и о клинико-экономической эффективности его применения.

Clinical trial and meta-analyis data demonstrate the important role of lipid-lowering therapy in reducing the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) complications and CHD death. Practitioners need additional information to select from the already available statins the one that is not only effective and safe, but also the most acceptable from the pharmaco-economical point of view. The research data available support high efficacy, good safety profile, and clinic-economical effectiveness of a new synthetic statin - rosuvastatin.
