Знаковое исследование ONTARGET® доказало, что телмисартан обладает аналогичными протективными свойствами, что и рамиприл, и лучше переносится большей частью больных с сердечно-сосудистой патологией высокого риска. На основании исследования ONTARGET можно сделать вывод о том, что телмисартан может предотвратить каждое 5-е серьезное сердечно-сосудистое событие. Результаты исследования ONTARGET® (ONgoing Telmisartan Alone and in combination with Ramipril Global Endpoint Trial), в которое были включены 25 620 пациентов, были представлены 31 марта 2008 года на 57-й ежегодной научной сессии Американского кардиологического колледжа.
