<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The review analyses the latest publications on coffee consumption and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk, CVD  complications, CVD risk factor (RF) levels, and Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM-2) complications. Coffee did not  increase the risk of CVD and CVD complications, did not affect CVD RF levels, and reduced the risk of DM-2  complications. These positive effects of coffee consumption are explained by its beneficial influence on carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, inflammation, and endothelial function. </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>кофе</kwd><kwd>сердечно-сосудистые заболевания</kwd><kwd>факторы риска</kwd><kwd>сахарный диабет 2 типа</kwd><kwd>антиокислители</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Coffee</kwd><kwd>cardiovascular disease</kwd><kwd>risk factors</kwd><kwd>Type 2 diabetes mellitus</kwd><kwd>antioxidants</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">WHO.
