Представлена точка зрения о значимости статинов в лечении и вторичной профилактике сердечно-сосудистых осложнений и негативных исходов у больных ишемической болезнью сердца высокого риска на примере широко известных исследований с применением симвастатина. Детально анализируются эффекты, связанные как с гиполипидемическими, так и с плейотропными свойствами статинов у больных различных клинических групп, пола и возраста.

The role of statins in the treatment and secondary prevention of cardiovascular events and adverse outcomes among high-risk coronary heart disease patients is discussed, using well-known clinical trials on simvastatin as an example. Lipid-lowering and pleiotropic statin effects are analysed in detail, by age, gender, and clinical group.
