<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>A substantial body of evidence has been obtained on an independent association between sleep obstructive apnoea syndrome (SOAS) and cardiovascular disease (CVD). It is particularly relevant for arterial hypertension (AH), coronary heart disease (CHD), stroke (S), heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and sudden cardiac death. Therefore, the present review focuses on an important issue of interrelations between SOAS and CVD, including AH, CHD, S, diabetes mellitus and mortality.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>синдром обструктивного апноэ сна</kwd><kwd>сердечно-сосудистые осложнения</kwd><kwd>артериальная гипертония</kwd><kwd>инсульт</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>sleep obstructive apnoea syndrome</kwd><kwd>cardiovascular events</kwd><kwd>arterial hypertension</kwd><kwd>stroke</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
