Показано, что кроме собственно антигипертензивного эффекта, эти препараты обладают множеством других преимуществ. Приводится ряд исследований олмесартана как представителя класса, имеющего ярко выраженные дополнительные преимущества, а также результаты его крупных, многоцентровых, рандомизированных испытаний. </p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>This literature review focuses on the angiotensin II receptor antagonists as one of the new and promising classes of antihypertensive medications. Apart from their antihypertensive activity, these agents possess a number of other beneficial effects. The results of multiple studies, including large multi-centre clinical trials, are presented for olmesartan, an angiotensin receptor antagonist with additional beneficial properties.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>артериальная гипертония</kwd><kwd>метаболический синдром</kwd><kwd>пожилой</kwd><kwd>старческий возраст</kwd><kwd>олмесартан</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>arterial hypertension</kwd><kwd>metabolic syndrome</kwd><kwd>elderly age</kwd><kwd>olmesartan</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Michel MC, Foster C, Brunner HR, et al.
