<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The paper focuses on the important issue of cardio-cerebral interactions, cardiac comorbidities, and the need for complex therapeutic approaches. While stroke is traditionally regarded as a neurologic problem, cardiologists play an important role in its prevention, via modification of multiple risk factors. One of the key preventive measures is arterial hypertension treatment. New calcium channel blockers are a promising group of modern antihypertensive medications. </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>инсульт</kwd><kwd>артериальная гипертензия (гипертония)</kwd><kwd>дигидропиридины</kwd><kwd>лерканидипин</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>stroke</kwd><kwd>arterial hypertension</kwd><kwd>dihydropyridines</kwd><kwd>lercanidipine</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Mathers CDC, Mernard KM, Iburg M, et al.
