<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Intravascular imaging of vulnerable plaques in vivo has great potential for predicting coronary events. Currently, there are several methods of intravascular imaging, which make it possible to verify the components of the plaque and, accordingly, its vulnerability. The most common are virtual-histology intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomography. Several studies have shown that these imaging techniques can stratify the risk of adverse cardiovascular events, as well as assess the effectiveness of drug therapy. This article will describe the advantages and disadvantages of intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomography in identifying vulnerable coronary lesions.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>оптическая когерентная томография</kwd><kwd>внутрисосудистый ультразвук</kwd><kwd>нестабильная бляшка</kwd><kwd>фиброатерома с тонкой капсулой</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>optical coherence tomography</kwd><kwd>intravascular ultrasound</kwd><kwd>vulnerable plaque</kwd><kwd>thin-cap fibroatheroma</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Статья подготовлена при поддержке гранта Президента Российской Федерации МК-1673.2020.7</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The article was supported by the grant of the President of the Russian Federation MK-1673.2020.7</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Muller JE, Tofler GH, Stone PH.
