Abstract
Aim. To investigate the volume and structure of educational activity of specialists admitted to the specialty of geriatrics in continuing education.
Material and methods. The study was conducted on the basis of the data of the Portal of Continuing Medical and Pharmaceutical Education (NMPE Portal) about the health care specialists registered on it and the results of their mastering the educational elements of continuing education.
Results. A methodology for selecting a group of specialists to analyze their educational activity on the NMPE Portal for a certain specialty (Methodology) was developed. In accordance with the developed Methodology, a group of geriatricians maximally using the NMPO Portal to record their educational activity was singled out. High indicators of the volume of educational activity of doctors of the selected group and the number of educational elements of all types mastered by them: additional professional development programs (APDP), educational events (EE) and interactive educational modules (IEM) were revealed. The distribution of mastering of educational elements in all years of study before periodic accreditation with the increase of activity in the fifth year of study was noted. The labor intensity, form of training and direction of content of the PCPPs most frequently chosen by geriatricians were analyzed.
Conclusion. The obtained results may indicate a sufficiently high degree of involvement of geriatricians in the system of continuing education, their commitment to the implementation of training recommendations and maximum use of existing opportunities to choose educational elements of various types, their labor intensity, as well as forms and schedule of training.
